“Best Buds” is the sad and heartwarming story of two friends Wanda & Chessie. Chessie was not wanted by her mother and was attacked after she was born. Wanda (La Wauka Lightning) protected the young foal until their owners realized what was happening and could separate the attacking mare from her baby and the baby’s champion.
They became inseparable friends after this chain of events.
I thank my friend Margaret Skeans for allowing me the pleasure of painting these two Best Buds or BFFs.
